Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a child trafficking module in the Capital with the arrest of two persons, including a woman. The duo was involved in kidnapping of a child from Delhi Cantonment Railway Station. Investigation has revealed that the accused sold the kid to a childless couple. Their arrest came after a tip-off. The child was kidnapped on April 1 when he was playing with his five-year-old sister outside his residence in Delhi Cantonment area.
The mother of the kidnapped child told police that one of the accused along with another woman offered drugged food to his sister. When she fell unconscious, they scooped up the boy. The boy’s family hails from Alwar in Rajasthan and has been living in Delhi Cantt area. The accused have been identified as Guljar Singh, alias Gulzari (33) and Surender Kaur (37).
“After kidnapping the boy, the traffickers met a childless couple. Gulzari gave it in writing that the child was his nephew and took Rs50,000 from the childless couple,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ashok Chand.
“The boy has been recovered from the house of the childless couple and handed over to the real parents. Surender Kaur was also found to have been previously involved in cases of abduction. A case under appropriate Sections of law was registered at Mayapuri police station,” he said.
