Zindagi or Jonk staged at Bharat Bhavan

On the fourth day of the 15th Rang Aadhar Natya Samaroh, a Hindi play ‘Zindagi or Jonk’ was staged.

Here on Sunday, the Bhopalites were spell bound to watch Amar Kant’s short story presented at Antarang Hall, Bharat Bhavan. Directed by a renowned theater personality of the country Bansi Kaul, the play was presented by the artists of Rang Vidushak Theatre Group, Bhopal.Based on realism, the play highlights the desires of middle class family from their children especially son and how a person did struggle to survive and want to live life at any cost.

Notably, ‘Zindagi aur Jonk’ is one of the famous story of Amar Kant in which criticized on intellectual people of our societies who is educated but only for saying, but have no humanity. It is a saga of character ‘Rajua’ who belongs to poor family. He come city in the search of job. He got small job here but city people exploit and tortured him a lot. But still he wants to live life despite of bearing all pain, given by people who belong to upper class family.  This whole play narrated by a narrator and his wife.

Shades and colours of plays were created by light beautifully. Beams light and moods light were used in both plays. The dialects of UP were used in the dialogues that added more zestful effect in the presentation of the play and the performance appeared to be the realistic one.

Director Bansi Kaul said “This is a realistic story which tells the condition of middle class family. I personally feel after reading this story I felt that the nature of human and animals are same, both want to survive at any cost for which they will sacrifice at times and would do compromises too.”

The audiences were enthralled with the wonderful performance of the artists. The artists gave vibrancy to the roles that they played with a mixture of compassion and tenderness leaving the audience mesmerised.
