The Marketing Association at XlRI Jamshedpur (MAXI) is organising the 36th edition of Maxi Fair, the annual Market and Consumer Behavior Research Fair.
Started over thirty years ago, MAXI’s mandate is simple — popularise the field of Marketing at XlRI. This is achieved through a mixture of competitive events, talks, interactive sessions, conferences and the renowned MAXI Fair. Every year major corporates like HUl, ITC, Star TV and Airtel partner with the Marketing Association to conduct research on more than six thousand attendees at the fair. The research is conducted through elaborate games designed by students of XlRI.
The concept of the fair was pioneered by senior XlRI faculty Sharad Sarin in 1979. Since then, the fair is giving an opportunity to the students to learn market research fundamentals and come up with marketing insights on problems handed over by partner brands and corporates. Apart from the market research games, Maxi fair also includes recreational activities like paintball, zorbing, video games, merry go round, fancy dress competition etc. Besides, the fun and frolic, the attendees can purchase exotic handicrafts and devour mouth-watering delicacies at the food stalls.
The two-day fair will start on January 17, 2015 at the XlRI campus ground. The footfall at the fair is expected to surpass last year’s 6,000 mark. The attendance at the fair makes it one of the biggest marketing event in the B-school circuits. The Marketing Association at XlRI was established in 1971 under The Societies Act of India. It is a student committee that annually organises an annual digital marketing event (legalise), a number of marketing talks, interactive sessions and events and MAXI Fair. It also has a place in the limca Book of Records for its outstanding online presence.
