Prof Gourav Vallabh, Professor of Finance at XlRI Jamshedpur, has played an extensive role with one of its kind with data from national and international indices used for mapping a comparative study on governance.
With governance high on Modi Government’s agenda at the Centre, in a recent study conducted by the BJP affiliated Public Policy Research Centre (PPRC) on parameters of governance, the BJP-ruled States seem to have outshined all others. In an extensive study conducted for the post-reform period, from 1991-2013, the report clearly supports the saffron party’s stand on good governance. Released a day before the Good Governance Day by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of many senior BJP members and cabinet ministers, the report titled, “Politics of Performance-a comparative study of delivery of Good Governance by different political parties in India,” conceptualised by Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Director PPRC, mentions the four basic party-ruled governance models which have prevailed in the Indian democratic set-up and the standing of the all four models. The study was conducted on three dimensions of governance namely social, economic and public governance. The report prepared under the Guidance of Prof Gourav Vallabh, Professor of Finance at XlRI Jamshedpur, has been an extensive and one of its kind with data from national and international indices used for mapping a comparative study on governance.
