A 46-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs30,000 by two bike-borne youths at Awadhpuri under Govindpura police station area on Monday.
The incident took place when Suchitra Gajbhiye came home after purchasing some medicines from a medical store at Awadhpuri area. A complaint was lodged with the police and in which the victim has claimed that when she was on her way back home, two bike-borne miscreants came close to her and attacked her and escaped with the gold chain she was wearing.
The victim raised an alarm but before she could alert the locals or commuters the miscreants managed to escape the spot. Surprised with the attack the victim was not able to notice details of the bike and the miscreants. The victim is a senior stenographer at Minor Forest Produce Corporation and is a resident of Tulsi Vihar Colony. Police suspected that the miscreants were following and took their chance when the victim was alone.
The incident took place in broad day light which suggested that the accused were aware of the area and have planned to execute the loot at the specific spot which would provide them an easy escape. After the preliminary investigation the police registered a case against the unidentified miscreants.
