A ten-member vigilance team headed by DSP Mithilesh Kumar Singh raided the local house of executive engineer Sone lal Das of building construction wing of PWD, posted at Chaibasa. His house is in Dinkar Nagar area, forest colony of Hazaribagh.

The vigilance team has caught the engineer red handedly when he was taking Rs 80,000 as from a contractor in his chamber on Friday of chaibasa office.

The raid started early in the morning and it went on till 9 pm yesterday. The sources said that no movable property was found but documents of valuable immovable property have been confiscated. The team got only as cash Rs 8,500 from the house.It is said that the family members have shifted movable properties to other places after the news of arrest of Sl Das spread and came in media.

Only his wife and son were at the residence yesterday while his daughter who lives with them was not present. The team has seized papers of lands purchased at Ranchi, Patna, Begusarai, Chaibasa and Hazaribagh on different names. It is said that recently Das has purchased some plots near Vinoba Bhave University area.  Anjali Das, wife of Sl Das, said that I have to go to Ranchi to give medicines to my husband as he is not in a good health nowadays.

In the morning I was preparing to go to Ranchi but the team suddenly came and started searching the house. She refused to say anything more and left for Ranchi with his son immediately after the departure of vigilance team.After the raid, DSP Singh said that the family members have become alert because the news of the arrest has already come in media.

It gave them time to secure the movable property because when we entered into the house the situation was clearly telling that money and various other properties has been shifted. We will carry out our further investigation in this matter.
