Goods and vehicles worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in a major fire which broke out at Shree ji Towers in Nehru Nagar area in the wee hours on Sunday.
Short circuit borne fire engulfed a grocery shop at Shree Ji Towers in Nehru Nagar area in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.At around 3 am a fire broke out in the grocery shop which soon spread and flames spread to upper floor started the residents were alerted and informed the fire brigade and police. Sanjeev Jain owns the grocery shop.The victim had claimed that the loss is around Rs15-Rs20 lakh On receiving the information around a dozen firefighting vehicles rushed to the post and it took around 2 hours to pacify the firr. .
The parking of the four storey building which was adjacent to the grocery shop were also gutted in fire. Around 8-10 two wheelers were gutted in fire.Police said that no casualty has been reported in the incident as the fire was pacified before it could spread in the residential part of the building.
The investigations are on but the reason of the fire is yet to be identified told the police.The building Shree Ji has shops at the ground floor and the upper floors are residential blocks. The fire broke out at a shop at the ground floor which engulfed the shop completely. Details of the loss have not been disclosed by the victim but he had claimed that it was a major loss as most of the goods affected in the fire could not be used.
The fire might prove dangerous but the incident occurred during the non-working hours due to which no one was injured in the fire.
