Miscreants decamped with valuables worth Rs4.5 lakh from Chunabhatti area under Chunabhatti police station area on Monday. Police said the incident took place at the residence of one Abhinav Vijayvargiya when he and along with his family had gone to Hyderabad where he is posted with a private company on December 17. The incident came to highlight when they returned home on Tuesday. They found that the locks were broken and the house was ransacked.
On entering the house the victim found that the valuables were missing and the almirah with the valuables were targeted. A complaint was lodged with the police and after the preliminary investigation further investigations were started.
In the complaint victim claimed that the gold and silver jewelleries worth Rs3.5 lakh, and Rs80,000 cash were missing.The police have registered a case under Section 454 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The house remained vacant for around two weeks during which the burglary was done but it was not possible to provide when the burglary was committed. Victim was not able to provide details of the valuables burgled but told that around Rs4.5 lakh would be the loss which has been incurred in the burglary.
The neighbours would be questioned and the security guards guarding the colony for the past two weeks would be questioned. The domestic help which used to work for the victim would be questioned as the domestic help was aware that the family would stay in Hyderabad for around two weeks. Police said that CCTV camera footages would be searched during the further investigation.
