The killer constable of UT police, Anand Kumar, who shot his wife dead and also shot himself with a service revolver at GMSH-16, was sent to one-day police remand by the district court on Wednesday.
Kumar was produced before Judicial Magistrate, Anubhav Sharma, who remanded him in one day’s police custody for further investigations in the matter.
The investigating officials said that the police are trying to trace the place from where Anand had brought seven live cartridges. “Anand had fired seven bullets and he also brought seven live cartridges with him, which he claimed that he was to reload in his service revolver to show himself as innocent,” said police officials in court.
Sources in police said that during questioning, Anand disclosed that his wife, Dimple Devi, was having an extra marital affair with her colleague, who also worked in the GMSH-16. The extra marital affair of Dimple was the prime reason for taking this step, added sources.On July 25, Anand Kumar, a constable posted in security of a Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge, shot dead his wife, Dimple Devi, after an argument. After killing his wife, he also shot himself with his service revolver outside the new OPD of GMSH.
