With an aim to curtail the gap between the demand and supply of electricity in the State, Uttarakhand Power Corporation limited (UPCl) has entered into an agreement with Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam limited (SJVNl) for procuring electricity for its lean time.
Well established sources confirmed that the department will receive 16.10 megawatt of electricity everyday from Rampur hydro power project from the coming March onwards. The agreement was signed by General Manager SJVNl Ramesh Kapoor and UPCl Chief Engineer SK Tamta, who also claimed that no stone would be left unturned for providing round the clock electricity to the consumers.
