Two Naxals including a woman insurgent surrendered before Superintendent of Police, Bijapur, Kl Dhruv on Wednesday.
One of the insurgents Ramu Kadti had actively participated in insurgent activities for the past 15 years, he said.He informed that Ramu Kadti (39) resident of Talikod village under the limits of Bhairamgarh police station and Fagni Varsa (25) of Utla village under Bhairamgarh police station have surrendered.He said Kadti was Area Committee Member (ACM) of Indravati Area Committee falling under Maad division. Before joining Naxal cadre, the insurgent was a farmer and in 1998 he became a ‘Sangham’ member. In 1999, he was promoted as range president of Utla village.
Kadti was a key person propagating Naxal ideology and used to keep .303 gun.likewise Fagni Varsa had joined ‘Krantikari Mahila Sangathan’ (KMS) one of the off-shoots of banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) in 2005. later on, she was made Co-ordinator of Jantana Sarkar. She use to carry a 12 bore rifle, the SP informed. Both the Naxals were deeply dissatisfied with shabby treatment meted out to them by Andhra origin insurgents in Chhattisgarh. The duo was also against the killing of innocent tribals in the name of police informers, the SP said.
They ( insurgents) have been handed over immediate relief of Rs 10,000 each and will be extended benefits of other schemes run by State government, Dhruv said.
