Two Naxals arrested; bomb defused in Kanker, Kondagaon

In separate incidents, two suspected Naxals were arrested in insurgency-hit Kanker district while a 5 kg tiffin bomb was detected and defused in Kondagaon, police said on Thursday.

The held ultras were wanted in various criminal incidents and cases were registered against the duo with Badgaon police station, Superintendent of Police Kanker RN Dash informed here on Thursday.Both the Naxals were arrested during a search operation carried out by a joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and District Force (DF). While conducting searching, the squad came to know about presence of Naxals in Badgaon region and reached at the spot and nabbed the duo, SP said.

They were identified as Aayturam Salam (30) and Shinga Ram (40 both residents of Pattegudam.In separate incidents, a 5 kg tiffin bomb along with 10 meter wire was found near Mungwal village in Bayanar police station limits. A Road Opening Party (ROP) which had started from Bayanar police station detected the bomb and it was defused at the spot.
