Two Maoist IED making experts held

Two insurgents who were found to be adept at making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), were arrested from a village in Sukma district, police said on Thursday.

Koyana Baghel (36) and Sukhram Baghel (37) were arrested from their native Bukrawada village coming under Kukanar police station limits of Sukma last night, Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, SRP Kalluri said.Acting on inputs that the duo were planning to hold a meeting with villagers at their native place, a joint squad of CRPF and local police was mobilized towards the spot, he said.

On sensing movement of the security forces surrounding the region, the insurgents tried to escape from the spot, but were nabbed, he said.The duo was working as Jan Militia members in Katekalyan Area Committee of the banned outfit and were tasked with preparing and planting the IEDs to harm the security forces, he said.
