The police have taken into custody a truck that was stealthily shifting goods from the residence of absconding police officer Rakesh Pal Singh Yadav and arrested the truck driver.
Yadav is absconding to avoid his arrest in the PMT scandal. Reportedly, police are searching for him. On Tuesday, on a tip-off, a police team was sent to CSP Yadav's Thatipur residence, where the police found that labourers had loaded all the household goods in the truck. The police took the vehicle to Bahodapur police station for necessary action. The truck driver, Hafeez Khan, told police that he had received a phone call from the police station itself. He was told that after loading the truck, he was to receive another call informing about the destination. The police are still investigation as on whose orders the truck was sent.
It may be noted that Rakesh Pal Singh Yadav, the then CSP Gwalior, had got his son and daughter admission through the PMT fraudulently. After an FIR was registered against him and the Special Task Force (STF) failed to arrest him, it declared Yadav an absconder. The STF has declared a reward of Rs 3,000 on his arrest. But Yadav took away his family from the house to avoid arrest and later on tried to take away his goods from his house.
The police were tipped off about the shifting of goods from the CSP bungalow based in Padav police station. The truck had registration number UP80AV9094.
