Three booked for raping 35-yr-old

 Chandigarh Police on Saturday booked three persons on the charges of gang-rape on a 35-year-old lady. They were also accused of stealing cash and jewellery from her residence.

UT ASP Urvija Goel informed The Pioneer that the accused have been identified as Irfan, Irdish and an unknown person. Meanwhile, no arrest has been made, so far, in the case, he said. The complainant in this matter reported to the police says that the incident took place on night of November 19. It was alleged that the accused entered her residence while she along with her daughter was sleeping in her room.

“Three persons entered in my residence and directed me to remain silent by threatening me with a sharp edged weapon. The accused raped me and also stole cash and other ornaments from my residence. However, as soon as my daughter raised alarm about the incident, they escaped from the spot,” said the complainant.

Meanwhile, a police team rushed the victim to Sector-32 Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32), where the police recorded her statement. A case was registered in the matter at Sector-34 Police Station, added the ASP.
