Search has commenced for identifying a suitable land to construct a new building for the Telibandha police station in the city, officials said.
The District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Municipal Commissioner have already visited different locations and had a look at three to four locations in Telibandha area to look for a suitable land for the proposed police station building. The police station operating in Telibandha area at present has shortage of space compared to the needs of a growing city and, as a result, the officials are considering to relocate the police station at a new place.
The officials are likely to finalise one of the identified places during the next few days. The key areas coming under the jurisdiction of Telibandha police station includes Indira Gandi Agriculture University, Mahavir Nagar, Shyam Nagar, Avanti Vihar, Chandi Nagar and Telibandha lake area.
