School Education Minister Paras Chandra Jain has said that role of teachers is vital for nation-building and academic reforms. Efforts would be made in tandem with teachers’ federations and other organisations for necessary reforms in the education sector.
He added that a committee would also be constituted soon for this. Jain was addressing a regional convention of Madhya Pradesh Teachers’ Federation here on Sunday.Jain informed that Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani has assured that a meeting of Education Ministers will be convened for improving the standard of education. At the meeting, efforts will be made to remove problems.
Minister of State for General Administration lal Singh Arya exhorted the teachers to contribute their mite in re-building of society and nation. More stress should be laid on duties than rights. It is the responsibility of teachers to remove lack of moral values in education and personality development of students. He said that teacher is ideal of students who attain higher positions in life by following teachers’ footsteps. Therefore, teachers must realise importance of their duties.
Minister of State for School Education Deepak Joshi said that teacher enjoys higher status than God in our society. Teachers must make efforts to imbue moral values in students. He said that now we have our own government right from Panchayat to Parliament. Efforts will be made to remove problems in education sector.
At the outset, the Ministers were felicitated with shaws and coconuts by members of Madhya Pradesh Teachers’ Federation. Its National Organising Secretary administered oath to recently elected Regional President and other members.MlA Panna lal, federation’s Regional President Pradeep Kumar Singh, Organising Secretary Bharat Singh and General Secretary Himmat Singh Jain were present on the occasion. President of Teachers Federation gave a memorandum to Minister Jain.
