In a bid to create awareness about the harmful effects of smoking among the public, the junior Red Cross unit of the ADAV High School here held a rally on the occasion of the Anti-Smoking Day on Monday.
The rally, which began from the school covered several important places of the industrial town. Chanting various slogans, the students displayed placards showcasing facts on harmful effects of tobacco and how youngsters get addicted to smoking and lose their life at an early stage. The rally culminated in a meeting at the bus-stand of the HAl Township, where the school JRC councilor Shaheda Parween along with teachers PK Padhi, MR Panda and RN Behera illustrated the harmful consequences of smoking and educated the people on the provisions of Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act and Prohibition of Smoking in Public Places Rules 2008.
