National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) State president Satyajit Pattnaik on Thursday demanded that the Centre pass the six anti-corruption Bills pending in Parliament for long in order to strengthen the fight against corruption.
Patnaik told mediapersons here that the recently-passed lokpal Bill alone is not adequate to fight corruption.
“Even after the passage of the lok Pal Bill, six Bills related to checking of corruption are pending in Parliament.
While four of these Bills remain pending in the lok Sabha, the two others are pending in the Rajya Sabha,” he informed.
“We urge the Prime Minister, UPA chairperson and Congress vice-president to ensure passing of the Whistle Blowers Protection Bill, 2011, the Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill, 2010, the Right of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of the Grievances Bill, 2011, the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013, the Public Procurement Bill, 2012 and the Prevention of Bribery of Foreign Public Officials of Public International Organisation Bill, 2011,” he said.
