The Madhya Pradesh Assembly's 29-day budget session, the third of the state's 14th Vidhan Sabha, is scheduled to commence on Monday and would comprise 21 sittings, official sources said.
Thus far, the Assembly Secretariat received 4,888 questions, 86 calling attention notices, three adjournment notices, 166 petitions, three notices for bills, 25 notices for private member's bills and three notices for discussion under Rule 139.Assembly's Principal Secretary Bhagwandev Israni said, "The budget session of the Assembly will commence on June 30. During the 29-day-long session, which will culminate on July 28, 21 sittings of the House will take place to transact official and non-official business, including budget for 2014-15."
This is the third session of the 14th Assembly of the state, he added. The budget session beginning tomorrow is likely to be stormy with the Opposition planning to raise the MP Professional Examination Board scam in the House and treasury benches preparing hard to counter them.The session is scheduled to continue till July 28, during which the state's budget will be passed.During the BJP MlAs' recent training session in Khajuraho, state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed the party legislators not to remain defensive on the issue (of MPPEB scam) as the government has not done anything wrong.
He asked them to be prepared to face the Opposition in an offensive manner on the issue. The leader of the Opposition, Satyadev Katare told media persons on Sunday, "We will raise all issues related to the public with full might in the Assembly."When asked about MPPEB scam, he said, "All issues in public interest (will be raised)."
Meanwhile, the House received a total of 4,888 questions to be asked by the members during the 29-day-long session, a release issued by the Assembly said.A total of 21 sittings of the House will take place during the session, it said.
The House also received a number of other notices, including three adjournment motions and also three notices for debate under Rule 139.
