The classical music lovers of the city had a mass musical treat by the first lady santoor player of the country Shruti Adhikari.
This spectacular santoor player showcased her performance at a musical concert ‘Shrutideep’ organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and IES Group of Institutions. She gave a spectacular performance here on Thursday at Seminar Hall, IES Group of Institutions.
Santoor is rare musical instrument of Kashmir and to find a female artist playing it is rare. Shruti Adhikari who hails from Bhopal, is a dedicated Santoor player who displays remarkable genius.
She is one of the most brilliant artists of Santoor. She has polished her art by strenuous training and riyaz and has won appreciation from audience all over the country.
She has also formed a group ‘Panch Naad’ that features only women classical musicians from various parts of the country.
Panch Naad is a marvelous blend of artists like Shruti Adhikari from Bhopal, Paromita Mukherjee from Delhi, Smita Vajpayee from Indore, Sangeeta Agnihotri from Indore and Rachna Sharma from Indore.
It was really a great pleasure for the music lovers and especially the youngsteres listening her in a concert.
The audience was spellbound as she reached the zenith of expression during her performance. She is a talented Santoor Player who has received training from a Santoor maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma.
As she began playing the different ragas, her endeavour has always been cherished by the audiences as she makes melodious magic when she hit the strings of the santoor.
Her commitment and enthusiasm towards the instrument and classical music made the classical music lovers appreciate her talent.
