The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State General Secretary Shivratan Sharma on Sunday mocked the Congress party’s final choice of candidate for Raipur lok Sabha seat by terming it as ‘appointment on contract basis.’
“like the way appointment on contract basis is made in Government departments for getting work done while officials at their whim hire or fire officials, the Congress high command has adopted similar procedure while considering a ticket for the Raipur lok Sabha seat,” he said in a statement issued here.
Sharma said that at first the Congress played the caste card while offering a ticket to Chhaya Verma which it cancelled and after some days offered it to Satyanarayan Sharma. While Sharma had not even finished celebrating his being offered the ticket, the Congress party reverted back by choosing Chhaya Verma once again as its candidate. After facing ire from Sharma’s supporters, it has once again offered the ticket to him. The people in Raipur lok Sabha constituency want to see for how long the contract appointment of Satyanarayan Sharma stays this time round, he said.
