Finance Minister Prasanna Acharya on Tuesday handed over cheques to seven ‘AJ’ series prize winners under the Small Savings Incentive Scheme. The last draw of lottery for the “AJ” series was held on February 24, 2013.
Harsharn Kaur and Sukhbir Singh of Bilaigarah under Kansbahal area in Sundargarah district received `5 lakh as joint winner of the prize. Similarly, Er Rajendra Prasad Behera and Biraja Behera won the second prize of `2.5lakh. Malabika Devi of Baseli Sahi, Puri was the recipient of the third prize of `1 lakh. Suresh Jena of Bisolanasasan of Bhadrak and Manas Ranjan Padhi, a city resident, won fourth and fifth prize, respectively. They got `50,000 each. The cheques given were with the tax deduction at the source.The Minister informed that as many as 1,025 prizes amounting to `62 lakh would be given to the fortunate investors in ‘Al’ series.
