Senior BSP leader of Madhya Pradesh and former MP from Satna Sukhlal Kushwaha on Thursday joined the Samajwadi Party here in presence of party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav at lucknow.
Kushwaha said that he was feeling suffocated in the BSP due to the non-democratic attitude of party president Mayawati. Yadav told reporters in lucknow that Kushwaha has been made the member of the party's national executive and now, SP would contest more seats in MP. SP has already announced five lok Sabha candidates in MP so far.
Kushwaha said that his main effort would be to stop the communal BJP from coming to power at the Centre and he hopes that SP would perform better in MP and emerge as a third force there, after BJP and Congress. Kushwaha had defeated Congress heavy-weight Arjun Singh from Satna lok Sabha seat on BSP ticket in 1996.
