Venting out his ire on the ‘diktat’ of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), which had asked him to climb the chariot alone without his disciples, Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth here Swami Nischalananda Saraswati on Sunday said he has taken up the matter with utmost seriousness.
And it is the State Government which would face the consequences of its own action, he warned.The Shankaracharya, as per his Saturday’s decision, boycotted his customary visit to the chariots during the Rath Yatra on Sunday in protest against the Government’s “insult” to him.
“Till now, I have remained silent over the situation while acting on my conscience. Every action has a reaction. The State Government has no guts to take any action against me. If it takes any action, it would face the consequences from tomorrow,” the seer told reporters after his meeting with Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan earlier.
