The State Bank of India (SBI) felicitated mountaineer Kalpana Dash here on Monday with a jacket, a cap, SBI logo and a cheque amounting Rs1.64 lakh towards the cost of her flight to South America.
Kalpana, who belongs to Dhenkanal, is scheduled to start her journey from January 4 next to climb the 6,962-metre-high Acconca Gua summit at the Andes hill range in South America. Earlier, Kalpana had scaled the Mount Everest in year 2008 and the 5,895-metre-high Killimanzore summit of the Tanjenia hill range in Africa in October 2014. SBI Dhenkanal branch General Manager Dillip Kumar Bhuyan presided over the felicitation ceremony and SBI Regional Manager Subodh Kumar Das was the chief guest. Dancers Aniket Pallav Nayak and Subhrajyoti Rout performed solo Odishi dances on the occasion.
