The Utkal Sammilani observed the birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das here on Friday.
Sammilani members, including its State head Dr Guruprasad Mohanty, Mancheswar Industrial Estate branch head Dillip Dashsharma and treasurer Usharani Mohanty, garlanded the statue of the Utkalmani at the Gopabandhu Square here early in the morning.
Dr Mohanty portrayed Gopabandhu as the symbol of service and sacrifice. later, Dr Mohanty and Dashsharma attended a function of garlanding of the Utkalmani at the State Assembly premises in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Speaker Niranjan Pujari.
