Rules strictly followed: Govt

The State Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection has clarified that all rules and procedures have been strictly followed in preparation of ration cards. The cancellation of ration cards is being done as per the provisions of the Sub-section 24 of Section 4 of PDS Order 2014.

According to Food Department officials, the State Government had decided to cancel the ration cards of ineligible persons in order to check misuse of the scheme started for poor people. The ration cards of the ineligible persons will be cancelled only after verifying the facts and after giving opportunity to the card holder to put his objection or claim.

The officers said the Government has given 45 days time for voluntary submission of ration cards. Those, who fail to submit the ration card, will face action as per rules.
