R'nagar woman escapes from croc attack

A 50-year-old married woman, Draupadi Pradhan, Naladia village under the Rajnagar forest Range, miraculously escaped from the jaws of death when a crocodile pounced on her while she was taking bath in river Brahmani on Saturday. Draupadi showed rare courage and fought the ferocious reptile, which grabbed her left hand. She sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Ali CHC. Rajnagar Forest Ranger Binod Acharya said forest personnel rushed to see the victim and he provided `2,000 from his own pocket for her treatment.
