Defending the recent neonatal ward incident at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital, Director Tulsi Mahto in a press conference said, “The matter was not so as it was presented. Due to some institutions employees’ dirty politics and fake evidences the institution was charged.”
In neonatal ward’s procedure room tetanus virus was found due the administration shut the ward for fuming process. The admit children were shifted to SNCU and children ward.“Tetanus virus is injuries only for OPD patients as they react on wounds and blood but the repeated pressure of media forced us to shift the patients in short span of time,” said Mahto.Mahto has urged to spread awareness among the people about it and prevent them from panic situation.Besides, RIMS administration has advised patients to get them referred to RIMS instead of reaching directly to the institution for treatment.“Our doctors are working extra hours and pressure on them is very high. With the objective to provide patients better treatment the above advice has been made,”said Mahto.Moreover, highlighting the manpower crunch issue in the institution Mahto urged Health Minister Rajendra Prasad Singh to look the matter seriously as it is the direst need of the institution.
