The Transport Department must make a policy for bus stands and their smooth running. Asked their official to release TAC upto Rs 5 cr at the department level,” said Harish Rawat, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, at a review meeting of Haldwani and lalkuan, Kotdwar and Bhagwanpur on Thursday at Bijapur guest house.
The CM announced that it has been decided by the Cabinet that offices, food godowns and school buildings for Government use can be taken on rent from personal owners.
CM instructed the additional Chief Secretary Rakesh Sharma to release an advertisement in this regard. The irrigation tube wells if required can be used for compensating water deficiency in command areas. This should be implemented after coordination by irrigation and drinking water department.
To cope up with the parking problem in bigger cities CM Rawat said that a project plan on creating parking facilities must be created by the Secretary Urban Development. He also revealed about the expenditure incurred by the State on construction of schools, food godowns, Government training institutes and other Government buildings. Thus it has been decided to take private building on lease.
Reviewing the development work in Haldwani, CM Rawat ordered to build electric crematoriums, elevated road from Bareilly roads, parking area at available land in Saras Market and asked for proposal to prepare a plan for setting up Tehsil. It was informed that Rs 5 crore have been released for installing 12 new tube wells in Haldwani. Three hand pumps have been installed in rural areas and Rs 23 crore were approved for beautification of roads in Haldwani.
Reviewing lalkuan area, he gave directions to give a proposal to the Cabinet for ownership rights to lalkuan residents. He has also passed orders to sanction a playground in lalkuan as well as a transit bus stand. It was stated that the foundation stone for CHC will soon be laid at Halduchaurh and a Government order has been released to upgrade the additional dispensary to PHC.
Reviewing the Kotdwar Assembly constituency, he instructed to take immediate action on pending proposals related to giving freehold status to Nazul land in Kotdwar. Orders have also been passed to renovate the auditorium at State College. Considering the need of the area, a proposal must be presented to open another college in Kotdwar. Proposal must also be sent for development of infrastructural facilities in order to develop community facilities in SIDCUl. Directions have been sent to the Managing Director SIDCUl for the same.
He stated that the work of renovation of State’s auditorium and renovation of hockey ground along with flood control must be done at priority. Along with this, play ground has also been approved in Kashirampur. He asked them to ensure that wherever stadiums and play grounds are being developed, should be duly maintained. He also announced that an approval for a new stadium will only be given to those areas where there is a sports club. Chandramohan Singh Negi State joint hospital has been upgraded to Base hospital and Kalaghati hospital, Garhwal has been upgraded to State joint hospital.
The state ITI Kotdwar is being run on the PPP Mode. Rs 10 lakh will be issued for an advocate chamber in the premises of Tehsil Kotdwar. Directions have been given to build a pump house in Nandparu Jhandichauddh. Rs 25 lakh have been released for this.
Orders have also been passed to build a tubewell in Padampur Khusrao, overhead tank construction in Uttari, tubewell and overhead tank in Kashirampur and work of construction of 50 km new over size pipe line in Bhabar area of Kotdwar. Along with this, he has also given approval for tubewell in Kotla and Nimbuchaudd and a mini tube well in Aampadhao.
While reviewing the Bhagwanpur constituency, the CM said that a permanent SDM will be appointed in Bhagwanpur Tehsil. Along with this, orders have been passed to increase the pace of work of the medical college being built in Bhagwanpur.Vacant posts on the newly built colleges in the region will soon be filled.
During the review meeting, Cabinet Minister Indira Hridayesh (Haldwani), Harish Chandra Durgapal (lalkuan), Surendra Singh Negi (Kotdwar), Chief Secretary N Ravishankar, Additional CS Rakesh Sharma, S Raju and Principal Secretary to CM Omprakash, Principal Secretary Dr Ranbeer Singh and other senior officials were present.
Arya abstains from review meet
Chief Minsiter Harish Rawat had called five Cabinet Ministers meeting in two shifts. In the first half three Cabinet Ministers’ constituencies like Indira Hridayesh (Haldwani), Harish Chandra Durgapal (lalkuan) and Yashpal Arya (Bajpur) figured but Arya did not attend the meeting due to personal reasons.
In the second half he reviewed two Cabinet Minsiters’ constituencies like Kotdwar MlA Surendra Singh Negi and Bhagwanpur MlA Surendra Rakesh. Although Rakesh did not attend the meeting due to health reason. later CM Rawat left for Delhi.
