In a bid to review the expenditure against the budget release of departments, Chief Minister Harish Rawat convened a review meeting with officials on Saturday. He expressed displeasure over the expenditure against the released budget and instructed to fix the monthly target and make assessments accordingly.
"There is a need to take help of information technology while preparing plan for urban development. By strengthening GIS mapping system and employing technical experts we can put a check on encroachment, check revenue loss and adulteration as well" The Chief Minister said.
The CM stressed that with the help of IT, biotechnology and other departments a road map can be built for the next three years where Municipal Corporations and government departments can be included.
"Now time has cum to run our Industrial training institute (ITI) as centre of excellence so that we would provide trained youth to the industry. For this we will have to modernize our existing workshops by procuring latest technology and employing best instructors as well. In which we should also rope private college and institute as well," Rawat said
To promote sports in the State Rawat said that a mini stadium will be built at the cost of between Rs 5-15 lakh in all districts and approved indoor stadium in Almora district. Stressing the need to promote Sanskrit education in the State, Rawat suggested of making private institute or Sanskrit schools as partners. He also instructed the Principal Secretary planning to assess the need of Sanskrit university and submit detailed report to him.
While reviewing the fishery development department, CM asked to give emphasis on pond construction, conservation of Mahasheer as well. To cope up with energy demands, CM asked UPCl to build project on PPP mode on the barren land of gram Sabha. To increase milk production cooperative milk committee would provide Rs two per litre in plain and Rs four per liter in hills as promotion cash incentive to the milk producer. Watershed department was asked to promote greenery and water resources as well.
