Rath Yatra celebrated at lohardaga

Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath, Balbhadra and Devi Subhadara was organised in the district. The yatra started from Thakud Baadi of gudri bazaar at 5 in the morning. A number of devotees pulled the rath and helped it to reach to Mousi baadi. On the occasion a fair was also organised in Gudri bazaar. The rath will be at Mousi baadi for nine days then it will be back in returning rath yatra.

History related to rath-yatra of lohardaga is also more than 260 years old. As a symbol of tradition and firm belief on  lord Jagannath, the district has seen its 256th rath-yatra till date. The yatra starts from the temple of Jagnnath mahaprabhu, Thakud Baadi of Gudri bazaar.
