Punjab Animal Husbandry Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike on Tuesday directed all the concerned departments to generate all their resources to make National livestock Championship, 2015, a grand success.
Holding a review meeting to check the arrangements, Ranike said that the livestock farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal, Gujrat and many other States would participate. Directions were issued to make boarding and lodging arrangement for the livestock farmers of other States. Financial Commissioner Animal Husbandry G Vajralingam apprised Ranike that all necessary arrangements for Progressive Punjab livestock Expo-2015 have been completed. The expo would be organised in collaboration with PHD Chamber and prizes worth Rs1.25 crore would be conferred to the winners.
He further said that this is the sixth National livestock Championship in a row organised by the Punjab Government. “In this championship, to be held from January 8 to 12 at Sri Mukatsar Sahib, many renowned companies and institutions would put up exhibitions and information stalls,” he said. He said that apart from exhibitions, seminars would also be conducted all along the championship. Scholars and subject experts would deliver lectures in these seminars, besides fun-frolic and other cultural events would also be arranged for the entertainment of visiting livestock farmers and general public, he added.
