Chief Minister Raman Singh has extended hearty wishes and greetings to the people of Utkal community in Chhattisgarh and neighbouring State Odisha on the occasion of ‘Nua-Khayi’ festival which will be celebrated on Sunday.
In his message to public, Chief Minister said that it is the tradition of India to celebrate the arrival of new crop in form of festival and to welcome Goddess Annapoorna.
Farmers, labourers and people of different states of the country celebrate this festival in different ways on different time and season.
The festival is known as Nua-Khai in Odisha and Nava-Khayi in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister stated that this year, Chhattisgarh and other parts of the country have recorded good rainfall. Hence, good yield of crops are expected. On the occasion, Singh has prayed for peace and prosperity of people.
