Due to the low pressure formed over the Sri lanka and Tamil Nadu coasts which moved northwards into India on Tuesday morning, parts of coastal Odisha experienced light drizzle while cloudy and chilly weather prevailed over most areas in the State.
Rains or thundershower would occur at a few places in south Odisha and one or two places over north Odisha while heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places in Odisha in the next 24 hours, a Meteorological Centre bulletin said. “The well-marked low pressure would move northwards along the coast and could trigger moderate rainfall along the Odisha coast. This kind of weather may prevail till January 1,” said centre In-Charge Director DP Ray. “The temperatures may go down in the east of the areas that experience rainfall,” he said.
The weather forecast has cast a shadow over the plans of New Year revellers, who are busy preparing for the festivities.
