Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is arriving on Monday in the Maoist hotbed of Kondagaon in Bastar lok Sabha constituency to address a public meeting.
Interestingly, BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had addressed a public meeting here on March 28. Bastar lok Sabha seat which is considered a bastion of the BJP, goes to the polls on April 10.The Congress party's national treasurer Motilal Vora, Rajya Sabha MP from Chhattisgarh Mohsina Kidwai, party's in-charge for Chhattisgarh and national general secretary BK Hariprasad will also accompany Rahul Gandhi on his campaign tour.
Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee chief Bhupesh Baghel is already in Kondagaon to make the rally a success. Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi along with other senior party leaders will also attend the public meeting, scheduled for 2 pm. Rahul Gandhi would seek support for Congress candidate from Bastar, Deepak Karma, who is the son of veteran Congress leader the late Mahendra Karma, who was martyred in the May 25 attack by Maoists at Jeeram valley on a Congress convoy last year.
