After successfully holding Investors’ Summit, and all geared up to hold Agriculture Summit, Punjab Government is going to organise another one — this time the Technical Education and Skill Development Summit-2014.
The Summit, to be held on February 8 at Mohali’s Indoor Sports Complex, is expected to witness the participation of representatives of technical educational institutions and prominent personalities from industry sector as special invitees, including Sunil Munjal from Hero Group, Kamal Oswal from Oswal Group, Rajinder Gupta from Trident Group, Kamna Raj from CII and Dalip Kumar from PHD chamber, among others.
“The Summit would aim at exhibiting potential and achievements of Technical Universities and Colleges of Punjab and at same time, it would attract investment and students of other States,” said the State Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Madan Mohan Mittal. He said that the Technical Education Department would showcase its quality initiatives at this Summit, which would be sponsored by ludhiana’s Punjab Technical University (PTU), and the Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA) jointly.
Mittal said that more than 400 colleges would combine their efforts to make Punjab, the educational priority for national and international students. “There are many States like the North-East, Bihar, Jharkhand and many countries like Nepal, Bhutan, and Africa where there are large number of students but less number of colleges,” he pointed. He added that department of technical education, PTU and PUTIA would work together to get students from other States and countries.
