Punjab Government has finalised a programme to provide agriculture machinery to the farmers in the state on subsidised rates besides announcing subsidy too for manufacturers of agriculture machinery.
“With a view to shortage of labour during peak sowing and harvesting seasons, the state has decided to mechanize agriculture sector by providing necessary agriculture apparatus besides encouraging farmers to adopt latest technologies to maximize agriculture production in the state,” said a government spokesperson.
He said that for this purpose, the government has invited applications on or before November 5, 2014, from the agricultural manufacturers for empanelment of the firms for supplying cotton seed drills, planters, vertical conveyer reaper, sugarcane ridger, paddy transplanter walk behind, paddy transplanter self propelled, nursery tray, nursery seeder and hydraulic MB Plough on subsidy to the farmers in the state.
