Former DGP Prakash Mishra’s name has been cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Central Cabinet for the post of Special Secretary, Internal Security in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. This was formally notified on Wednesday.
Mishra, a 1977-batch Odisha cadre IPS officer, is now posted as the CMD of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC).
His name was recommended by the Home Ministry for the post on July 3 this year and the Union Home minister Rajnath Singh had informed this to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on July 4. However, the State Government shifted Mishra from the post of DGP the following day and appointed him as the OSRTC CMD.
