A physiotherapy student who had sexually assaulted a senior girl student at knifepoint was arrested by Koh-e-Fiza police on Thursday. Earlier, on Wednesday the victim had visited the hospital to treat a patient but was sexually assaulted.
According to the police on Wednesday night, the victim girl was contacted by the accused and was told to visit the hospital for providing treatment to a patient. Unaware of the ill deeds when the victim arrived at the hospital she was captivated by the accused and was sexually assaulted at knifepoint in a room in the hospital.
Police told that the accused Manish Patil is pursuing Bachelor of Physiotherapy and the victim is pursuing her Masters in Physiotherapy and after assaulting her sexually the accused escaped but was nabbed on Thursday.
The accused hails from Shahdol district and would be produced in the court on Friday.
The police have registered a case under section 376 and 506 of the IPC.
In the initial investigation, it was found that the victim was acquainted with the victim and on the pretext of helping an ailing person she accepted to visit the hospital but was raped by the accused.
After the incident, accused escaped but before escaping he threatened the victim of life but the victim braved to lodged a complaint with the Koh-e-Fiza police and acting swiftly on the complaint the police launched a manhunt to search the accused and successfully nabbed the accused on Thursday.
