Public Health Engineering Minister Kusum Mahdele inaugurated one-day state-level workshop on National Rural Drinking Water Awareness Week here on Thursday. The Awareness Week will be held from February 25 to March 1.
Mahdele said that it is government’s responsibility to supply clean drinking water to people. For this, results of discussions to be held at the workshop should be implemented instead of confining them to documents only. She said that apart from awareness, attention will also have to be paid on availability of water. She said that treatment plants should be set up to supply clean drinking water. Old water sources like wells, baodis etc should be cleaned and recharged.
