Wednesday, 31 December 2014 | PNS | Dehradun

The department of gynecology and obstetrics at Max Super specialty Hospital is organising a personal assessment OPD for gynecological problems of women.  The special OPD would be organised till January 10. The consultants of hospital Dr. luna Pant, Dr. Rashmi Varshney Gupta and Dr. Pragya Kalra Dehradun would consult women for their gynecological related concerns at the hospital premises during the OPD. Senior Consultant of Hospital Dr. luna Pant said that women often tend to neglect their own health but in the current environment, it is pertinent to focus on their health.

“Several young women experience the early onset of hormone imbalance and associated symptoms such as depression, extreme fatigue, allergies, endometriosis, hair loss, facial hair growth, pre-menopausal symptoms (PMS), and osteoporosis. If the symptoms are ignored in the early stages, they worsen as time goes by”, she said.

The doctor informed that India’s female population stands at 614 million and as per UNICEF data, around one-third of all adult women in India are underweight, every second woman in the country is anemic and 35 percent are malnourished.
