The Paradip Port Workers’ Union (PPWU) observed its golden jubilee here on Monday. A meeting was held on the occasion at the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Officers’ Club in the presence of PPT Chairman Sudhanshu Sekhara Mishra.
PPWU president Rajendra Prasad Singh presided over the meeting, where PPT Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Traffic Manager Kishore Kumar Sahoo and PPWU president Sudhakar Mantri spoke on the importance of trade unions in the growth of industries and contribution of workers in the development of the port.The PPT Chairman also spoke about the new land policy of the Central Government which would benefit the port.
