The BJP Government in Haryana on Tuesday said the Centre's ordinance on the land Acquisition Act would be implemented in the State with immediate effect. The move comes a day after the Union Government recommended promulgation of an ordinance making significant changes in the Act, including removal of consent clause for acquiring land for five areas of industrial corridors, PPP projects, rural infrastructure, affordable housing and defence. Speaking at Fetehabad, Haryana CM Manohar lal Khattar said, “The ordinance on land Acquisition Act 2013 will be implemented in the State with immediate effect and all the future land acquisitions will be as per new ordinance.” Khattar further that the State Government would soon announce sports policy.
