Now the citizens will get passport related services at all Chhattisgarh Online Information for Citizen Empowerment (CHOiCE) Centres operated in Chhattisgarh.
In the presence of Regional Passport Officer CP Yadav, training in online operation of passport service has been imparted to the CHOiCE Centre directors who had arrived here from different parts of the State.
In the training programme held at State Data Centre building, besides Yadav, Chhattisgarh Infotech and Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) (CHiPS) CEO AM Pariyal, In-charge of Tata Consultancy Services Passport Service Centre Ashish Hardas, Senior Manager of General Service Centre, e-Governance Service India Private limited Madan Mohan Raut and over hundred CHOiCE agents were present.
Parial said that passport services is a significant task linked with the CHOiCE agents of the State who have got good opportunity to enhance their business.
He said that conforming to the directives of Chief Minister Raman Singh and under the guidance of Principal Secretary, Information Technology and Bio Technology Department and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Aman Singh, this facility was being given to people for getting their passport on an ‘Anytime – Anywhere’ basis near their residence. Rural applicants would specially get benefit of it, he added.
Regional Passport Officer CP Yadav said that this service was started through CHOiCE Centres to increase transparency in passport preparation, in accordance with the directives of Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. This would not only provide momentum to the passport service, but also residents of the remotest areas of the State also get this facility near their residence.
CHOiCE agents from across the State got information about passport online service, payment etc. Madan Mohan Raut made a presentation of the project. The CHOiCE project conceptualised and developed in Chhattisgarh, had received many national and international awards in the past.
