‘Mega lok Adalat suffered from poll pitch’
Palamu judgeship Kishore Kumar Srivastava has inspected the central jail Daltonganj and saw things for himself there. The Pioneer spoke to him as inspection of central jail in times of poll and that too in the left wing extremist hit district like Palamu attains much significance.
How did you find the central jail Daltonganj during your inspection of itIJ
The jammer there is dysfunctional . It is quite an alarming thing. I inspected kitchen too. The condition there in the central jail is satisfactory. Such an inspection is but a routine affair.
Palamu will go to vote this April 10. The civil administration is campaigning for increase in voting percentage. Will the judiciary also join this driveIJ
No. The judiciary will not. For this job as you said there is a whole range of officials doing their mite. There are provisions of law for it and it can be explored for this .
The National lok Adalat is scheduled for April 12. But all around it is poll time. Then how will it be heldIJ
The National lok Adalat has been postponed. Fresh date of it has not come yet. The NAlSA is to announce the new date of it.
Justice On Wheels was here for the whole month of February and it collected more than 3,000 applications from the public. What is the fate of those applicationsIJ
The fate is secured. The judiciary has sent it to the respective office and department. An ATR (action taken report) is awaited. This issue has been taken up in a meeting with the DC Palamu K N Jha who has assured of action in this matter.
There was a mega lok adalat here in Palamu judgeship from March 25 to 29. How well it got offIJ
It could not achieve results as we had expected. We had a target of 1,000 cases to be disposed of.We could do just little over fifty percent only. Parties could not attend the mega lok adalat because of hardships in travelling these days as vehicles are off the roads. There was one day naxal bandh on March 27 too. The financial year is also inching to its end. All this affected the number of disposal of cases.
