Nine persons including two minors were arrested for raping a 14-year-old girl here on Thursday. A case of gang rape and abduction has been registered against the accused, police said.
The girl, a resident of Sector-6, Bhilai had gone missing on October 27. later on, her mother registered a case of missing person with Bhilai Nagar police station, Station House Officer Bhilai Nagar, Rajesh Sahu informed.The prime accused in case was identified as Thomas, resident of Green Chowk Durg. The accused on the pretext of marrying the victim had taken her away.The accused took the victim to Atal Awas in Dhamdha where he raped her. later on, the accused took the girl to Anda village where the rest of accused raped her, the SHO added.
The girl somehow escaped and managed to reach Durg and contacted her parents and narrated her ordeal. Based on the statement of the girl, the accused have been identified and arrested, SHO Sahu said, adding, the medico-legal report has also confirmed rape.
