While inspecting the works of PWD department here on Thursday, Public Works department Minister Rajesh Munat instructed the officer to complete building of roads, bridges etc within a stipulated time-limit and with accountability.
“People pay taxes to drive on good roads and it is our duty to provide them quality roads,” he said during the meeting. Expressing his dissatisfaction of construction of bridges in vast Surguja region, Munat instructed the officers to regularity monitor the construction works, follow the tender process and maintain quality.
He also reviewed building of state highways in the region. PWD officers and district collector were present in the meeting. “You should ensure that the development work are finished in time and quality is maintained,” Munat said to the officers. He ordered that online system should be put in place to bring transparency in tender systems and asked the officials to speed-up delayed works.
