After a prolonged delay, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission here on Saturday evening declared the results of MPPSC prelim examination-2013. In all 12,399 candidates have qualified in the preliminary examination. Now these candidates would appear for the MPPSC Main examinations slated to be held on March 23 next year.
According to official sources, examination forms for the MPPSC main examinations would be filled from December 15 next month. The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission is conducting PSC examination this year for a total of 755 posts. The MPPSC preliminary examinations had been conducted this year on July 27.
The results of the preliminary examinations were withheld by the MPPSC after the Commission on August 29 this year admitted errors in 16 questions asked in general studies and general aptitude papers.
Ever since reports of errors in preliminary examination papers were out, the students had been demanding cancellation of the preliminary examinations as well as abolition of 16 incorrect questions.
The students’ body in this regard had also submitted several memoranda to the MPPSC, seeking cancellation of the examination and staged demonstrations on several occasions to press for their demands.
However, it was only few days back the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission in its high-level meeting decided to declare results of the preliminary examination without considering marks of 16 in correct questions. The Commission had earlier decided to award bonus marks for each wrong questions asked in preliminary examinations. However, the agitating candidates were opposed to the Commission’s move and had been demanding cancellation of the MPPSC preliminary examinations. Over four lakh candidates had appeared in the preliminary examinations, out of which 12,399 candidates have been declared successful.
